Chelsea's Alex to miss start of season

07/22/2010 - London, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chelsea defender Alex will miss the start of the English Premier League season with a thigh injury that will sideline for one month, the club announced on Thursday.

Alex was injured in training, joining goalie Petr Cech on the sideline. Cech tore his calf and will also miss a month.

The EPL starts Aug. 14 with eight games, including West Brom at Chelsea.
